HISTORY

This year Software Factory celebrates its 33rd anniversary. Find out more about the history of the company since its foundation as a spin-off by graduates of the Technical University of Munich.

Software Factory can now look back on more than 30 years as a company. It originated as an idea in 1992 from Dr. Rainer Stetter, Peter Bartl and Thomas Trägler, instigating the firm’s establishment as a spin-off of the Institute of Machine Tools and Industrial Management (“Institut für Werkzeugmaschinen und Betriebswissenschaften”, iwb) of the Technical University of Munich. In 1998, ITQ GmbH was founded as a sister company for comprehensive consulting, support and implementation of software-created projects.

Today, Software Factory is a long-term PTC partner, therefore being able to offer a broad product portfolio in ​​the American partner company’s field. In addition to its position as system integrator for PTC Windchill RV&S (since 2015, formerly Integrity) and ThingWorx (since 2016),  Software Factory’s core competence is the development of additional applications for PTC’s CAD software, Creo, and the PLM platform, Windchill, as well as project development for special software in the Creo environment using the PTC Creo Toolkit.
