HISTORY
This year, in 2022, Software Factory celebrates its 30th anniversary. Find out more about the history of the company since its foundation as a spin-off by graduates of the Technical University of Munich.
Software Factory can look back on 30 years as a company. It originated as an idea in 1992 from Dr. Rainer Stetter, Peter Bartl and Thomas Trägler, instigating the firm’s establishment as a spin-off of the Institute of Machine Tools and Industrial Management (“Institut für Werkzeugmaschinen und Betriebswissenschaften”, iwb) of the Technical University of Munich. In 1998, ITQ GmbH was founded as a sister company for comprehensive consulting, support and implementation of software-created projects.
Today, Software Factory is a long-term PTC partner, therefore being able to offer a broad product portfolio in the American partner company‘s field. In addition to its position as the only certified reseller for both, PTC Windchill RV&S (since 2015, formerly Integrity) and ThingWorx (since 2016), in the German-speaking area, Software Factory’s core competence is the development of additional applications for PTC’s CAD software, Creo, and the PLM platform, Windchill, as well as project development for special software in the Creo environment using the PTC Creo Toolkit.
In Autumn 2017, Software Factory celebrated its 25th anniversary with a big “Day of Digital Transformation.”
